Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of flash card media in learning English vocabulary in 4th grade elementary school students and improve the memory of English vocabulary for 4th grade elementary school students using flash cards media. In this study the theories of Djunaidi & Fauzan (2012) are used. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, this research will explain the facts and factually characteristic and carefully to conclusions. Participants in this study consisted of 4 people namely, three students and an English teacher. In this study, data were collected using observation, interview and test techniques. The results showed that learning by using flash card media was proven to be able to improve students' memory in learning English class IV A in SDN Rancamanyar 1. Increased student memory could be seen from observations that increased by a few points and improved test results increased by up to 15% . In addition to observations and tests, the results of the interviews also showed the use of flash card media can attract students' attention so that their memory capacity also increases.
